Medieval Sword

A 3D model of a medieval style sword. The project was made as a way to visualize a hilt design I had thought of and wanted to visualize.

Modeling

Sword modeled in Autodesk Maya.

UV Unwrapping

Model unwrapped to be textured.

Texturing

Sword imported and textured in Adobe Substance Painter.

Base model of medieval sword.

Modeling

The sword model was created in Autodesk Maya. I wanted to create a squared crossguard design I had thought of but was unsure how to visualize. Using Maya, I was able to bring my vision to life as a 3D model.

UV Unwrapping

After modeling the sword, I uv unwrapped the sword. I separated the pieces so they could be cleanly textured when exported.

Texturing

Using Adobe Substance Painter, I textured the sword to have a metal blade and crossguard as well as a wooden grip and brass pummel.
